This section outlines the parks and other recreational areas for Rancho Vistoso Residents.
Vistoso Community Association Parks
The following is a list of the 9 Rancho Vistoso Neighborhood parks, their locations and the amenities that are offered at each park. Unless specifically noted parks do not have restroom facilities.
Big Wash Park - Located at the corner of Vistoso Village Drive and Big View Drive. To reach this park take Rancho Vistoso Blvd to Vistoso Village Drive and go north to the corner of Big View Drive. This park has children's playground equipment, benches and a water fountain.
Cortona Park - Located at 13478 W Garlenda Way, to reach the park take La Canada Road north to Maspalomas Drive, then turn on Garlenda Way. The park has a ramada, benches and a barbecue.
Hohokam Park - Located at 799 West Desert Fairways featuring an enclosed dog park, children's playground equipment, three ramadas, barbeques, restroom facility, trails, tennis, volleyball and basketball courts.
Monticello Park - Located by taking La Canada Road north to Barlassina Drive, turn left and proceed to the 13500 Block of Barlassina Drive. This park has children's playground equipment, a basketball court, ramadas, picnic benches and a barbecue.
Somerset Canyon - Located at approximately 13100 N Player Place, to reach this park take La Canada north and turn right on Faldo Drive to the corner of Faldo Drive and Player Place. This park has children's playground equipment, a ramada, picnic benches, and barbecues.
Torreno Park - Located by taking Moore Road west to Tarzana Dr and turning left on Bloomington Loop to 12838 Bloomington Drive. This is a small park with children's play ground equipment and benches.
Sunset Park - Located at 500 W Klinger Canyon Drive there are several routes to this park, one by taking Moore Road to Eagleview Drive and proceeding west to the parking lot, taking Moore Road to Woodburne Ave and proceeding west to Klinger Canyon Drive and left to the parking lot or walking to the end of Woodshade Linear Trail off Rancho Vistoso Blvd. The park has picnic tables, barbecues, children's playground equipment, volleyball and basketball courts.
Wildlife Ridge Park - Located at 12250 N. Woodburne Avenue with a baseball diamond, basketball and volleyball courts, children's playground equipment, trails, ramada, picnic tables, barbecues and restroom facility.
Woodshade Linear Park - The trailhead is located between Vistoso Village and Sanmaniego Ridge Streets off of Rancho Vistoso Boulevard. This is an easy walking trail that is cemented from beginning to end. The walk down the trail borders a beautiful riparian area and it is possible to see many desert creatures on the walk. There are benches and some tables along the trail if you need to sit down, rest and enjoy the scenery. The trail offers a lot of shade from mesquite and palo verde trees that line the pathway. Toward the end of the trail you will reach Sunset Park that has several picnic benches, barbecues, playgound equipment and more. The paved trail ends at Hidden Springs drive but you can continue on for about 1/4 mile through the desert on an unpaved trail to reach Hohokam Park.
All of the parks have the following general rules.
- Hours: Sunrise to 10:00 PM
- No glass containers
- No Alcohol
- No Vandalism - Report it - There is a reward.
- Please remove all debris and refuse
- Children under 6 years of age must be accompanied by an adult.
- No dogs off leash
- Pick up all pet waste
One additional park in the area is Honey Bee Park at 13880 N. Rancho Vistoso Boulevard that is owned and maintained by Pima County. Honey Bee Park offers trails, several ramada's and restrooms.
The Golf Club at Vistoso is located at 955 W Vistoso Highlands Drive, Oro Valley, Arizona.
